Crouching At The Door

For some reason I was reminded of what God had said to Cain in Genesis 4...

... if you refuse to respond correctly, then watch out! Sin is waiting to attack and destroy you, and you must subdue it.

It seems like once again, God knows exactly what He's talking about. No matter where we are in our journey of life, sin seems to be at our door waiting to pounce on us. We can be on top of a spiritual mountain feeling like we're face to face with the Father, then out of nowhere comes temptations that make no sense as to why they are coming your way. There's not a level in your spiritual walk that you get to and you become "untouchable" by sin... at least not in this world.

I guess it's just on my mind that we need to be alert as Peter warns us in 1 Peter 5:8 because whether we realize it or not, there is an enemy out there that is seeking to destroy your life. He doesn't check with you to see if you can fit his "attacks" into your day planner. He is most effective with his attacks when we let our guard down. While we would like to think that our enemy (Satan) would come at us like the kitten above, he's not always as noticeable in his approach.
