33 years ago today, I busted on the scene with a bang. Yep, that's right, today was my 33rd birthday. It was a pretty good day overall. I didn't have much time to dwell on the day because of the work that needed be done at the church. I did manage to get in a few moments of remembrance on this day though...

I am very grateful for the loving family that God has blessed me with. I could not have asked for a better wife than Naomi. The three bundles of blessings (Drew, Sam, and Cole) are so much more than I could ever have asked for in children.

I miss my mom not being here to call and wish me a "happy birthday." This is the second birthday of mine since mom went to be with the Lord. I believe that it was on my mind more this year because I drive past the interstate exit where she lived during her final days every Monday now.

I made it to where Jesus was in earthly age. I know that this probably seems strange, but it's my thoughts so it's okay. Most scholars believe that Jesus was around age 33 when He was crucified. My first thoughts on this one were, "I hope I don't get crucified this year!" but it was Naomi who reminded me that yes, Jesus was crucified around this age, but He was also resurrected around this age, too! (You see why I love this woman?)

All in all, today was a good day. Thank you for the birthday wishes and I will try to respond when we pick Facebook and Twitter back up in a week or so.
