Praying for Revival

revivalpicOur church fellowship, New Life Fellowship, is looking to hold some special services at the end of this month with the hopes that God will move in a mighty way.  We have been praying about this for a while now and feel that God is up to something, and we want to be a part of it.

I would be the first to share with someone that no man, woman, boy or girl can make revival take place.  Revival is the work of God.  Only He can make it happen.  But there could be a reason that we are not experiencing the mighty works of God on our part.

James 4:2 says, "You desire and do not have.  You murder and covet and cannot obtain.  You fight and war.  You do not have because you do not ask."

Could it be that we are not seeing the mighty works of God in our midst because we simply are not asking?  We go through so many things on the checklist: planning, inviting, scheduling, reading up, studying the Word.  We can easily miss the most  important thing: to ask God to do what only He can do!

I would like to invite you to join me in praying an asking God to send His winds of revival to our land.  If you are in the Gilbertown, Alabama area on February 24-27, stop in and join us for some special services at New Life Fellowship.  We will have Ryan John leading worship and Chris Vowell will be preaching.  We start at 6:3opm each night.

Any revival worth salt begins with a biblical repentance. The kind David gave in Psa 51, A broken and contrite spirit.' Christianity wants to evangelize the world, who will evangelize a fallen and dead Christianity?

Yahshua said 'if you love me obey my Commandments and I will come and manifest myself to you.' This does not happen very frequently because men utterly refuse to obey the teachings of Yahshua. They actually cost something, everything, most revivals are all about a cheap worthless instant salvation. Whereas the salvation that Yahshua taught is a life long process.

Thanks for your comments. I can agree that repentance is a key element to revival taking place. This post was some of my notes from the last message in a series I called "Raising the Sails for Revival." The second message in that series dealt with repentance. Check it out on http://nlfgilbertown.com.
